Why We Are the Right Choice for Your Care

Long Island Jewish Forest Hills, a proud member of Northwell Health, is a 312-bed community teaching hospital located in an ethnically diverse residential neighborhood in central Queens. The hospital’s medical staff and employees ensure sensitivity and respect for the cultural needs of patients and their families. Its physicians and ancillary medical personnel represent many ethnic and religious backgrounds.

The Emergency Department is a 911-receiving site, a certified heart station, and a New York State Department of Health-designated stroke center. The New Life Center features labor-delivery-recovery suites for new moms, beautifully appointed postpartum rooms, a well-baby nursery and a level II neonatal intensive care unit. In alignment with our World Health Organization and UNICEF baby-friendly designation, when a baby is born in the New Life Center, the "Brahms' Lullaby" melody will play for 15 seconds throughout the hospital to honor the gift of life. We hope this soft melody will warm the hearts of our patients and visitors. The melody will not play during our “Quiet Time” hours, which are between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. daily. The Department of Orthopedic Surgery, which includes the Total Joint Replacement Center, specializes in advanced orthopedic procedures. Long Island Jewish Forest Hills also has highly regarded surgical programs to address patient needs in bariatrics, breast, colorectal, general, oncology, gynecologic, spine, thoracic, vascular, urology, podiatry and wounds.

In addition, ambulatory sites in the community provide a full range of adult primary and subspecialty medical and surgical services, maternal-fetal medicine, gynecological care, outpatient rehabilitation and urgent care.
